There are lots of things you can do to minimise the impact your child’s nappies have on our environment including:
• If it’s affordable, seek out disposables that are made from recycled and sustainable materials that have some compostable and biodegradable materials
• Use a 100% biodegradable liner in your cloth and disposable nappies which you can flush down the toilet rather than chucking it in the bin
• If you use cloth nappies make sure you wash in cold water and use eco friendly laundry liquid
• Don’t use the dryer for nappies!
• Dispose of disposables in 100% biodegradable nappy bags rather than plastic bags
• If possible, minimise your use of disposables nappies by using one or two reusable cloth nappies
